Essential Umrah Duas

Authentic supplications for the rites of Umrah, in Arabic with transliteration, translation and the source for each.

Please note: This page gathers well-known duas from the Qur'an and authentic Hadith. Fixed duas are recited at particular points, while at other times you may supplicate freely in any language. Have the content reviewed by a qualified scholar before relying on it for rulings.

1. The Talbiyah (recited in Ihram)

لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ

Labbayka Allahumma labbayk, labbayka la sharika laka labbayk, inna al-hamda wan-ni‘mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika lak.

“Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am; You have no partner; here I am. Indeed all praise, grace and sovereignty belong to You. You have no partner.”

2. Beginning Tawaf at the Black Stone

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Bismillah, Allahu Akbar.

“In the name of Allah; Allah is the Greatest.” (Said as you pass the Black Stone, raising the hand towards it.)

3. Between the Yemeni corner and the Black Stone

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina ‘adhab an-nar.

“Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”

4. At Safa, before beginning Sa‘i

إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ

Inna as-Safa wal-Marwata min sha‘a’irillah.

“Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah.” (Then face the Ka‘bah, say “Allahu Akbar”, and make dua.)

5. Entering the Masjid

اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ

Allahumma iftah li abwaba rahmatik.

“O Allah, open for me the gates of Your mercy.”

6. Dua when setting out on a journey

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ

Subhanalladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin, wa inna ila Rabbina lamunqalibun.

“Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it by our own efforts. And indeed, to our Lord we will surely return.”

7. The dua of Prophet Ibrahim at the Ka‘bah

رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka antas-Sami‘ul-‘Alim.

“Our Lord, accept this from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.”

8. Asking Allah to accept your worship

رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ

Rabbana wa taqabbal du‘a.

“Our Lord, and accept my supplication.”
